The British Moroccan Society is is honoured to have two distinguished diplomats as its Patrons representing our respective Kingdoms:
His Excellency Mr Hakim Hajoui has served as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland since December 2021. Educated at Concordia University in Montreal and Télécom Paris, he began his career in strategy consulting in Paris before joining the OCP Group, where, as Chief of Staff to the Chairman and CEO, he led the Group’s expansion across Africa and its South-South cooperation partnerships in Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal and Ghana — experience he has brought to bear in deepening Morocco’s commercial, cultural and political ties with Britain.
He is joined in this work by His Excellency Mr Alex Pinfield OBE, His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, who was appointed in February 2025 and presented his credentials in Rabat in August of that year. A career diplomat of more than twenty-five years’ standing, Ambassador Pinfield has served in China, Iran, Australia and Afghanistan — most recently as Deputy Head of Mission in Kabul — and has headed both the Iran Unit and the China Department at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Together, their two missions give expression to a relationship between Britain and Morocco that now stretches back some eight hundred years, and the Society is grateful for their continued support and encouragement.
