BMS- SHOOF project for blind & partially sighted teachers & students in Casablanca, Marrakech, Tetouan
The aim of the project is to support the development of education for children with disabilities in Morocco especially the visually impaired (VI). In these early stages, this project is providing a teacher training programme to teachers of all subjects in schools for the VI in Casablanca, Marrakech and Tetouan. Trainers come from the University of Birmingham. Other SHOOF activities include Workshops for trainees at pre-service teacher training colleges and for the Moroccan Association of Teachers of English (MATE). This project is being generously supported by Henna Cafe in Marrakech purchase of specialised equipment for the pupils and teachers at the Marrakech school – and the J Paul Getty Jr General Charitable Trust – funding the training in Tetouan.
